About Rosa Damascena
Rosa damascena mill L. is one of the most important species of Rosaceae family flowers. Rosa damascena has a perfuming effect and pharmacological properties including anti-HIV, antibacterial, antioxidant, antitussive, hypnotic, antidiabetic, and relaxant effect on tracheal chains have been reported for this plant. This plant is cultivated for preparing essential oil. Because of the low oil content in Rosa Damascena and the lack of natural and synthetic substitutes, essential oil of this plant is an important substance in global markets.
Production of rose oil
After cultivation and harvest processes the harvested crop is carried to the facility. Leaves are gathered together, and prepared for distillation process. They are filled in large cauldrons, mixed with water, and boiled together in high temperature. Oil cuticles in leaves explode and evaporate with water vapor. The mixture is exposed to cooling by passing through tubes. The oil is seperated by condensation, and accumulated in glass lanterns. It is filled into glass bottles by faucets, and then taken to oil rooms for filtering. After filtering we acquire the final pure product.
